The film will be followed by a speaker. Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz is the President and Dean of Valley Beit Midrash, a global Jewish learning and action center, located in Scottsdale, AZ. Rabbi Schmuly has twice been named one of America’s Top Rabbis by Newsweek and has been named by The Forward as one of the 50 most influential Jews and one of The Most Inspiring Rabbis in America. He is the author of 23 books on Jewish ethics. Rabbi Shmuly received a Masters from Harvard University, a Masters from Yeshiva University, and his Doctorate from Columbia University. He was ordained as a rabbi by Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, along with 2 private ordinations in Israel. Rabbi Schmuly, his wife Shoshana, and their four children live in Scottsdale, Arizona. They have also served as foster parents.
Overview
- Based on a true story, this gritty drama focuses on a shelter for troubled boys in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood near Tel Aviv. Margalit has run the shelter for years but when tragedy strikes and threatens to close them down, it is up to her protégée, Jackie (who grew up in the shelter) and the boys to all fight to stay together and keep their home.
