Overview

  • Bati, an ultra-Orthodox woman in Jerusalem, seems to have the perfect life until she discovers that her husband Lazer is gay. Lazer has been secretly having relations with men and is being blackmailed within their community. The rabbis send him to therapy to try to make him straight. Bati tries new ways to entice him , trying to preserve her marriage for herself and her children, as the pair still love one another. Beautifully acted, PINK LADY is a poignant drama that sensitively wrestles with a very real problem within the Haredi world.

Yaeli, an ultra-Orthodox Jewish young woman, carries a terrible secret that may destroy all her chances of future happiness.

Rabbi Kanter is a graduate of Barnard College, the Jewish Theological Seminary, and the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. She is a recipient of the Covenant Award for Exceptional Jewish Educators (1998).

In addition to her work at The New Shul, she serves as the founding director of The Women’s Jewish Learning Center. Rabbi Kanter has had great impact in our community in advocating for and facilitating Women’s Torah study.
