A native of Krakow, Dr. Anna Chichopek-Gajraj is an Associate Professor at ASU in the School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies and is also affiliated with the Center for Jewish Studies. She received her PHD from the University of Michigan in 2008. Dr. Chicopek-Gajraj’s research focuses on Polish-Jewish relations, antisemitism, and ethnic violence in Poland and in Polish-Jewish diaspora after the Holocaust. She is the author of two books on postwar Polish-Jewish history and is the recipient of the 2016 Shofar Zakhor Award from the Phoenix Holocaust Survivors’ Association.
