Overview

  • Winner of 10 Israeli Ophir Awards, this comedic drama deals with unearthed family secrets. When she was a 2-year-old child, Marie’s mother “gifted” her to her infertile sister to raise, a custom common to Moroccan Jewish culture of the time. Now a grown woman, Marie travels from France to Israel to marry her childhood sweetheart and to confront her family. A wonderful film of hidden wounds, strong women, and forgiveness.

The film will be followed by a guest speaker in Scottsdale and Chandler. Eleanor Sela is an accomplished actress, screenwriter, and producer. She is in the ensemble cast as well as the co-scriptwriter of Seven Blessings, which won 10 Israeli Ophir Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Screenplay. Ms. Sela is currently working on a new movie about an all-female Israeli Defense Force tank unit which defended against the Hamas terror attacks on October 7th.
